Services Offered

I work from the perspective of seeing a person in context, regardless of working individually. Although taking responsibility for ourselves and being empowered is important, we do not heal alone and as human beings need connection. Exploring family of origin and life experiences,  developing new skills such as mindfulness and self awareness, and setting goals, are all part of the therapeutic process.

Individual Therapy

Creating meaningful connection with our partners is vital yet so many issues can stand in the way. Feeling stuck in the same stubborn pattern without knowing how to shift it, can feel hopeless. I help each couple heal through gaining a better understanding of how their experiences as children impacted their current perspective of relationships, shifting patterns and beliefs that are no longer useful and teaching the vital skills that create and maintain healthy relationships.

Couples Therapy

Family stressors and patterns are handed down from one generation to the next, until someone stops and questions whether the cycle of distress can be mended. Working with families swiftly helps shift patterns, as each part of the system gains insight verses an individual driving the change. When we heal within our family system and create lasting changes, our children and those to follow reap the benefits for generations.

Finding Your True Path

Finding your True Path is essentially discovering your own way forward. There isn’t only one path, but many, and tuning into your authentic self and inner knowing, is your path. When we uncover what’s below the layers of social conditioning, negative experiences, and things that cloud our sense of self, we find clarity- we not only know what is right for ourselves, but improve our relationships as well.

These are my core approaches to help you find your own True Path

Family Systems

I work primarily from a family systems perspective. We look at how family relationships inform the way we view ourselves and relate to others.

A goal is to reconnect with each other and learn to communicate more effectively. When that is not possible or healthly, I help accept and grieve that loss and create a new sense of family through developing and strengthening friendships and connecting to environmental resources.

DBT and Mindfuless

DBT incorporates mindfulness and other skills in order to reduce emotional turmoil and increase a sense of well-being. DBT incorporates CBT, where thoughts, emotions and behaviors are looked at to better understand problematic behavior and to make more effective choices.

A Holistic Practice

I take a holistic, nonjudegmental approach in addressing the impact of lifestyle choices, such as nutrition, exercise, alcohol/substance use, and the use of technology. When possible, I like to help individuals increase their time spent in nature as an antidote to the stresses of everyday life.
